Solar Thermal Domestic Hot Water Systems have become increasingly efficient, allowing homeowners to significantly lower their utility bills by reducing the amount of gas, oil and/or electricity required to provide hot water to your home. They are particularly effective for heating swimming pools.
Save Energy Solutions, working with our sister company Save Energy UK, can design and configure your system tailored to the exact requirements of your property to provide a cost-effective solution that will reduce your reliance on environmentally-damaging, costly fossil fuels and save you money for years to come...
Our solar thermal hot water systems generally come with a 10-year warranty and require very little maintenance. They consist of three main components: solar panels or solar collectors, the heat transfer system and a hot water cylinder.
The solar thermal collectors are fitted to your roof (preferably a South-facing elevation) to collect maximum heat from the sun's radiation. The heat transfer system uses the collected heat to heat water in your home and the hot water cylinder stores the hot water and supplies it for later use.
A range of factors need to be considered when designing your optimum solar thermal system, including the area of south facing roof, your existing water heating system and your budget. Our experienced solar consultants will discuss your options frankly and thoroughly and will be on hand to answer any questions before, during and after your solar thermal installation.
Solar Installations generally take between 2 - 3 days and should not disrupt the day-to-day running of your home or business any more than other conventional trades may. Normally, following an initial survey on your property and subsequent consultation with yourself, installation can begin within 2 - 6 weeks. Our solar installations carry a comprehensive parts & labour guarantee, while our solar installation teams have experience of literally hundreds of solar thermal installations and are Government accredited.
In England, changes to the law regarding the installation of solar and other renewable energy technologies were introduced in April 2008. These have lifted the requirements for planning permission for most solar installations and solar systems can now be installed in most dwellings. However, exceptions still apply for Listed Buildings, Conservation Areas & World Heritage Sites.
Government Grants for Solar Thermal Hot Water Systems
Government Grants of up to £400 are now available for Solar Thermal Installations. Grants are available as part of the Government Incentive scheme to encourage the use of green renewable energy in UK homes and funding is available until either it is used up or the Feed-In Tariffs come into effect in April 2011 as scheduled.
To qualify, you must receive a Solar Thermal installation quote from an MCS approved installer - like ourselves, Save Energy.
