Solar PV systems allow you to generate electricity for your home or business, rather than solar thermal systems that provide heating & generate hot water. Solar PV (or 'PhotoVoltaic') systems use 'Flat-Plate' solar panels, rather than the 'Evacuated Tube' solar collectors commonly used for most solar thermal systems.
Our photovoltaic solar panels are engineered for use in almost any environment. They are known for their high reliability, high efficiency and low environmental impact. We are committed to designing you a system that will provide you with trouble-free electricity for years to come...
Our top range of Solar PV panels offer a 25-year limited warranty on power output and the frame features corrosion-resistant anodized aluminum and high-strength glass. Additionally, panels have been drop-tested using a 545 gram (1.18 pound) steel ball from a height of 1.295 meters (51 inches).
Solar PV can also be integrated with other sources of free renewable energy within an overall energy system to provide an extremely environmentally-friendly domestic or commercial energy solution.
Solar electricity occurs when light from the sun is converted into electricity. Solar photovoltaic panels are made from thin layers of silicon, a semiconductor material that absorbs the sun’s rays and turns them into electricity.
Power companies will even PAY YOU for excess electricity generated by your solar PV system... As of April 1st 2010, if your PV system produces more electricity than you use, it can be sold back into the National Grid. Read on about Solar PV Feed-In Tariffs below...
SOLAR PV FEED-IN TARIFFS
The Government has now set the Feed-in Tariffs (FIT’s) for Micro-Generation PV Installations which will come in to affect from the 1st April 2010.
Anyone installing a domestic Solar PV system will be guaranteed a feed-in tariff of 41.3p per kwh on ALL electricity generated by your system for the next 25 years..!
The Government estimates that an average household could earn approximately £900 per year - or approximately £20,000 over the 25 year period... At over 9.5% per year, that's a great return on investment..! Any unused electricity you generate can also be sold back to the National Grid at a set rate.
Naturally, you may also benefit from your Solar PV system in many other ways:
- You will need to buy less electricity from your electricity supplier (estimated average savings of £130 p.a.)
- It is reasonable to assume that the value of your property will increase,
- ..And, of course, you will be doing the planet a big favour by reducing your Carbon Footprint.
