Save Energy Solutions are approved ground-source heat pump distributors and installers for the leading manufacturers of heat pump technology, supplying and installing heat pumps across Dorset, Devon, Hampshire, Wiltshire and the South. We initially assess your property's heating and hot water requirements and then individually design your ground-source heat pump system to operate at optimum efficiency.
At present, we all have the freedom to choose whether or not to voluntarily install greener technologies to reduce the impact of our home or business on the environment. Heat pumps and other renewable energy technologies are increasingly attractive due to improved efficiency and the rising cost of fossil fuels. These greener technologies will soon become compulsory on all new build properies in the near future through Government legislation.
Ground-Source Heat Pumps offer an extremely environmentally-friendly source of energy from which to generate hot water and heat your home or business premises. They are already in use in many UK schools, council buildings, business premises and private homes. They are able to produce more energy than they consume by using conventional refrigeration technology to absorb heat from the earth and raise it to the required temperatures for heating.

As nearly 75% of the energy required to run a heat pump is generated directly from the environment, heat pumps are one of the most efficient heating and hot water technologies available. For every 1kWh of electricity used to power a heat pump compressor, between 4-5 kWh of heating energy are produced, giving the heat pump an efficiency of 400% or higher.
A heat pump’s “efficiency” is known as it’s “Coefficient of Performance” (CoP). This is simply a ratio between the total energy supplied that can be extracted from the environment and the amount supplied by an electrical source to power the heat pump compressor... Therefore, the higher the CoP, the more “free” environmental energy the heat pump is using.
Ground-Source Heat Pumps work on a similar basis to Air-Source Heat Pumps, converting the sun's energy stored in the environment around us - except they extract latent heat from the ground, rather than the air...
They therefore have a minimal environmental impact - with most makes and models of heat pump exceeding the CO2 reduction targets required by current building regulations. They also provide significant added value by improving your home's overall energy performance, contributing favourably to your HIPs / Energy Performance Certificate and improving your overall star rating as a sustainable home.
Government Grants for Ground-Source Heat Pump Installations
Government Grants of up to £1200 are now available for Ground-Source Heat Pump Installations. Grants are available as part of the Government Incentive scheme to encourage the use of green renewable energy in UK homes and funding is available until either it is used up or the Feed-In Tariffs come into effect in April 2011 as scheduled.
To qualify, you must receive a Ground-Source Heat Pump installation quote from an MCS approved installer - like ourselves, Save Energy.
If you would like more information on Grants for Ground-Source Heat Pump installations, call us now for your free quote or fill in our contact form.
Ground-Source Heat Pump Feed-In Tariffs
If you install a domestic Ground-Source Heat Pump system, you will be guaranteed a payment for every KW/h of energy you produce - whether you use it or not..! The smallscale Ground-Source Heat Pump Feed-In Tariff, scheduled for April 2011, will PAY YOU 7p per kwh for ALL the energy generated by your system for the next 23 years..!
These Tariffs fall under the 'Renewable Heat Incentive' scheme. If you are considering a ground-source heat pump installation, you need to contact an MCS Accredited installer like ourselves, Save Energy. Call us for more information or click here to fill in our contact form..
